The RTA Transit Benefit Fare Program allows your employees to set aside pre-tax income, up to $315 each month, for parking and transit fares on CTA, Metra, and Pace. Employers save money on payroll taxes and employees are incentivized to use transit to get to work, saving them money and time. The RTA Transit Benefit Fare Program will help businesses large and small comply with the Transit Benefits Program Act, which goes into effect on January 1, 2024. The new law requires employers with more than 50 full-time employees, located within a mile of fixed-route transit service in the six-county RTA region, to offer their employees a pre-tax benefit.
